Frequently Asked Questions

Why we praise and worship the way we do?
We believe that Praise and Worship should be participatory. Our musicians and singers enter into the presence of God and take the congregation with them. Each service we glorify God with our best.

Why do we stand to sing?
"Then some Levites . . . stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with very loud voice." (2 Chron. 20:19 NIV)

"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: 'Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.'" (Rev. 7: 9-10 NIV)

Why do we lift our hands?
"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." (Psa. 63:4 NIV)

"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord." (Psa. 134:2 NIV)
"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." (I Tim. 2:8 NIV)

Why do we clap our hands?
"Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy." (Psa. 47: 1 NIV)

Why do we dance?
". . . praise His Name with dancing . . ." (Psa. 149:3 NIV)
"David . . . danced before the Lord with all his might." (2 Sam. 6:14 NIV)

Why do we sing in tongues?
"For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind." (I Cor. 14:14,15 NIV)

Why do we sing?
"Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to the Lord." (Eph. 5:18,19 NIV)

Why do we prophesy?
"Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy." (I Cor. 14: 1 NIV)

"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good . . . to another miraculous powers. to another prophecy . . ." (I Cor. 12:7, 10 NIV)
